17th International Exhibition of Video and Cinema Beyond

This is the 17th year INVIDEO. Organized since 1990 in Milan, it has established itself as the most important Italian event in the field of experimental and art video. INVIDEO is a complete project whose main activities are:
INVIDEO is a special project of Lombardy Region supported by Ministero per i Beni e le Attivita Culturali, Milan's Province, Milan's Municipality and AICEM Organization of one-week exhibition at the prestigious Spazio Oberdan in Milan (Italy), where visitors can find the best of international and Italian experimental production in film and video;

The setting up of a public video library, the largest in Italy to date, with more than 700 works, thanks to the acquisition year after year of the most meaningful experimental and art videos, selected with a cooperation of a team of experts who are active worldwide;

Promotion of the video artist around Europe thanks to liaison with Festivals and Institutions, and to the activity of the New Images European Network.

REGULATIONS 2007

1. Entry requirements:

-The next exhibition of INVIDEO, organized by A.I.A.C.E., will take place at Spazio Oberdan in Milan  (Italy), Viale Vittorio Veneto 2, from 7th to 11th November 2007;

-Exhibition concerns no fictional works (video art, experimental documentaries, found footage, video dance, music video, experimental animation) whose production has been made in the last 3 years (2005-2007);

-There's no limit of length;

-The format of screening will be: 35mm, 16mm, Digital Betacam Pal or Beta SP Pal (16/9 nonanamorphic
or 4/3). Selected films will be requested in the screening format specified on their entry form;

-One author can submit, if he want, more than 1 work.

2. Entry procedures and selection:

-Pre-selection works must be only in VHS (PAL) or DVD and will be judged by INVIDEO's Selection Committee;

-VHS or DVD's must be sent: - by mail (specify "no commercial value - for cultural purposes") or EMS (DHL, Federal Express...) for a declared value of less than 5 € or US$ 5.

-Works sent must be accompanied by the fully completed call for competition entry form and by the following documentation: synopsis, technical fact sheet, videomaker's bio-filmography/c.v. (with date and place of birth), cd with images of the video in jpeg format/300 dpi. The completed call for competition entry form, should also be sent by e-mail.

-Preview copies won't be sent back;

-Entries and required materials will be send no later than June 20th 2007 to:

-The list of the selected videos/films will be available on the Festival’s web site www.mostrainvideo.com from 20th September 2007.

-Videos selected will be screened in the exhibition in their original medium and included in the catalogue; most will be acquired with a specific agreement for INVIDEO video library;

-All parts of the call for competition entry form must be correctly completed, otherwise the video will not be considered for final selection.

3. Prolongation of the Festival

-Programmes composed of films or videos from the official selection may be circulated after the Festival for its promotion or promotion of Invideo Exhibition in Italy, exclusively for its own strictly cultural, non-commercial purposes.
